Terms of service

These terms ("Terms") govern your use of the spuun mobile application, website at spuun.app, and any related services (together, the "Service") provided by spuun Ltd, a company incorporated in England & Wales ("spuun", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

Note: these terms are provided in summary form ahead of public launch and will be reviewed by qualified counsel before general availability. If you have questions, email legal@spuun.app.

Your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create a spuun account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at security@spuun.app if you suspect unauthorised use.

The free tier and subscription

• The Service includes a free tier giving you three Tesco basket transfers, the full recipe library, full Cook Mode, and household sharing — all with no time limit.
• Continued use of basket transfers requires a paid subscription ("spuun Plus" — annual or monthly), or a Founder's Circle membership where available.
• Subscription pricing is shown in-app at sign-up. Prices may change for new subscriptions; existing annual subscribers are billed at their original rate until renewal.
• Founder's Circle members are entitled to their joining rate for life, subject to continuous membership. If you cancel, the Founder's Circle rate is no longer available to you.

Billing and cancellation

• Paid subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play in your local currency. Refund and cancellation rules are governed by their respective billing systems.
• You can cancel any time from Profile → Subscription → Cancel in the spuun app, or from your App Store / Play Store subscription settings.
• Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for partial periods.
• Your data is retained if you return — your savings history, household preferences and recipe interactions persist.

Tesco basket transfer

• spuun is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Tesco plc. We use publicly available Tesco APIs to fill your basket on your behalf using credentials you provide.
• Your Tesco login credentials are stored only on your device, in your phone's secure enclave. spuun never sees, transmits, or stores them on our servers.
• Final checkout, delivery selection, payment, and order confirmation happen on Tesco's own systems — we hand off to Tesco at the end of the basket-fill flow.
• Tesco may from time to time change pricing, availability, or substitution rules. We do our best to handle these gracefully but cannot guarantee against every Tesco-side change.

Recipes and savings claims

• Our recipes have been tested by independent home cooks. Cooking results depend on your equipment and ingredient quality.
• Savings claims (vs HelloFresh and Gousto) follow a published methodology — available in-app and at request. Individual results vary by household size and recipe choice.
• Allergen and nutritional information is provided in good faith but is not a substitute for reading product labels — see the allergen disclaimer.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to derive our source code or training data
• Resell or sub-license access to the Service
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Interfere with the Service's normal operation or attempt to gain unauthorised access

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, spuun's aggregate liability under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under English law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email and shown in the app on your next session. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
